We would like to share with you our experience from the recent eGovernment and digitalization ISSS 2024 conference, which took place on 13–14 May in Hradec Kralove city, Czech Republic. This prestigious event focused on egovernment and digitalization of public administration attracted experts and public administration staff who shared their knowledge and innovations in the field of digitalization of the public sector.

Our presentation generated great interest and provided examples of the successful implementation of these technologies in various countries.

Benefits of Low-code Platforms for Government

Low-code platforms represent a revolutionary approach to application development that enables faster and more efficient digitalisation of processes. Key benefits include:

• Speed of development: thanks to visual programming and predefined components, applications can be developed much faster than with traditional methods.

• Denmark: electronic ID and wallet, integration of 200 services (Faroe Islands)
• Finland: automation of tax administration
• France: administration of housing renovation subsidies
• Norway: modernisation of healthcare, communication between patients and doctors
• Germany: processing of state aid applications (developed in 5 days)
• Sweden: unemployment agenda
• Slovenia: labour inspectorate (digitalisation of paper processes, mobile apps)
• Scotland: land registry (digitalisation of paper archive and new online maps including the information)
• Switzerland: prison system (organisation, reports, frequent system changes)

Our participation at ISSS 2024 was a great opportunity to showcase how low-code platforms like Mendix, OutSystems or PowerApps can fundamentally change the way governments around the world digitalise their services. We are proud to be part of this technological revolution and to contribute to a more efficient and transparent public sector.
